“HOME”

2/9/2021

We decided on “Home” for this issue’s theme with an eye on, for one, the upcoming break, when many of us who have been living on campus would return home, and for two, the ways the past year have made us reevaluate what home means. We were most excited, though, to see how you would respond to this prompt, and how you would challenge, subvert, or explore the conception of Home.

Artists like Erol Pierce capture the mad geography of city-scapes in “Rudimentary,” where sculptor Kaitlyn Peters focuses on the rickety and messy foundations of a single home in her piece “The Lucky Ones.” Poet Cashana Diggs looks at how people can be, and fail to be, home.

We continue to be impressed by the talent and ambition of our creative community, and are proud to present their art to you. If you enjoy the work you see here, please consider sharing the issue and submitting to future installments.
